As she enters a new phase of young adulthood, Melbourne’s Lotte Gallagher takes a proud stride forward with her new EP, BLASÉ VENGEANCE.

For the 19 year old songwriter, the stories featured on this EP are close to her heart and memory–a messy, cathartic clash of emotions that have ultimately led her to form a new layer of resilience and insight.

Gallagher’s confidence is key to the DNA of the EP: from the swirling chaos of record opener ‘PTRCK’, to the drivingpace of ‘OUT OF PATIENCE’, it is evident that the artist is guiding this sonic experience with a clear grasp on identity and vision.

Writing with talented collaborators including Harry Charles and Ciarann Babbington, allowed Gallagher to follow new ideas and push herself into new territory. Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Charles, whose credits include songs by artists including Tate McRae, King Princess and more, formed a fast creative bond with Gallagher across a number of fruitful sessions.

Between Gallagher and Babbington – another talented songwriter and producer, best known for leading NZ indie band, Bakers Eddy – another important creative partnership formed. Neither had met each other before a trial writing day quickly developed into a relationship built on trust and inspiration; leading to Babbington co-writing and producing a number of tracks, before mixing the entire BLASÉ VENGEANCE project.

BLASÉ VENGEANCE paints a portrait of young adulthood and human connection. Platonic or romantic relationships, the way we interact with others during these formative years can heavily influence the way we determine our own paths forward – discovering the human qualities that mean the most to us and often, the type of people we want to hold close. In exploring the above with an unflinching brand of honesty and charisma, Lotte Gallagher further cements her place within Australia’s next gen of alt-rock heroes.
